Childcare Programs
Families of Alta Vista students, who require childcare outside normal school hours, may wish to enroll their child in one of the following programs available on or near the Alta Vista campus.
ALTA VISTA CHILD
FAMILIES OF ALTA VISTA STUDENTS, WHO REQUIRE CHILDCARE OUTSIDE NORMAL SCHOOL HOURS, MAY WISH TO ENROLL THEIR CHILD IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS AVAILABLE ON OR NEAR THE ALTA VISTA CAMPUS.
ALTA VISTA CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The Alta Vista Child Development Center (CDC) provides before- and after-school childcare from 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for grades K-5 on the Alta Vista campus. The Child Development Center is supervised by the Redondo Beach Unified School District and offers:
- A 1:14 Adult To Child Ratio
- On Site Care
- 12 Month Program
- Full Day Most Holidays And Vacations
- Close Relationship With Elementary Schools To Support The Curriculum For All Students
- Daily Snacks
- Developmentally Appropriate Activities
- Homework Time
- Age Appropriate Field Trips
- A Safe Enriching Atmosphere For Your Child

AFTER-SCHOOL PLAYGROUND PROGRAM
The After-School Playground Program provides after-school care for grades 1-5 only on the Alta Vista campus from the end of school until 5:30 p.m. This is a non-custodial program and children are allowed to come and go as they please. The After-School Playground Program is supervised by the Redondo Beach Recreation and Community Services Department.
