All About Mrs. K

I am from the San Luis Obispo area and received both my degree and credential from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo.  I moved to Southern California in 2004 and spent my first two years of teaching out in San Bernardino, where I taught both first grade and kindergarten for the San Bernardino City Unified School District. I was thrilled to move out to the west side of Los Angeles and accept a teaching position at  Alta Vista in 2006. I love the enthusiasm that elementary school students have for both learning and life!

My personal interests include a love of music. I particularly enjoy musical theater (both taking part in it and taking it in!). I enjoy sharing this interest with my students by integrating music and drama into the curriculum.  My husband and I also love to travel. Our favorite travel destinations include Estonia, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Australia.
