For Drop-Off & Pick-Up – Sign Up NOW!

Do you drive your children to and from Alta Vista each day?

In the coming weeks, Alta Vista Elementary School will offer the NEW Alta Vista Valet Program (AVP) – a safe, convenient option for parents at drop-off and pick-up!

Help us combat the safety issues faced each school day due to the high traffic congestion around the school by signing up for AVP today.  Parents of 1st through 5th grade students may register to participate in the ALTA VISTA VALET PROGRAM (AVP).

How does AVP work?

AVP utilizes the driveway in front of the school.  It is the single, curbside lane only, designated by safety cones and AVP signage.

DROP OFF (morning): Students arrive between 7:45am – 8:15am

  • Have your AVP placard visible from your rearview mirror.
  • AVP registered cars approach the school heading westbound on Knob Hill, turn right into the school driveway, and pull forward as far as possible.
  • Do not unload on your students on Knob Hill or along the planters at the beginning of the driveway.  Please wait until the cars ahead of you have unloaded and then pull forward as far as possible.   Say your goodbyes before entering the driveway.
  • Please do not leave your vehicle for any reason.  Parent Volunteer Escorts (Valets) will be present to assist students.  Students will unload from the passenger (curb) side only.
  • All backpacks shall be in the car with the student, not in the trunk, to facilitate the process.

PICK UP (afternoon): Grades 1-2 @ 2:30pm; Grades 3-5 @ 2:35pm

(Wednesdays: Grades 1-2 @ 1:20pm; Grades 3-5 @ 1:35pm)

  • Have your AVP placard visible before you reach Alta Vista. You will not be allowed to pick up your child without a numbered AVP placard.
  • AVP registered cars approach the school heading westbound on Knob Hill, turn right into the school driveway, and pull forward as far as possible.
  • Students will be paged by Parent Volunteer Escorts (valets) and loaded into the back seat of your car from the passenger side only.
  • Please do not leave your vehicle for any reason.

If your child’s class is not present for dismissal, you will be asked to drive around the block.
